According to Pornhub, it has decided to block access to its site in the states over privacy concerns. Pornhub plans to block access to its site in two more new states: Indiana & Kentucky.

Pornhub already blocks access to its site in at least seven other states. Including Arkansas, Virginia, Mississippi, Montana, Texas, North Carolina, and Utah.

While Pornhub acknowledges that its site, it’s argued that collecting IDs is “putting everybody’s privacy at risk”. And won’t ultimately achieve the goal the laws are after. Pornhub says device-based verification is a better solution.

These bans affect all sites run by Pornhub parent company Aylo, formerly MindGeek—which includes YouPorn, RedTube, Brazzers, and more.

Florida recently passed a similar age-verification law. Which goes into effect in January and could also impact residents’ access to the site.

One way to get around the block in the banned states is to use a VPN – more about that here.

Pornhub first blocked Utah last year. And has since has blocked Texas, North Carolina, Montana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Virginia due to these laws. Louisiana has also passed an age-verification law, but as of publication Pornhub is still accessible there.

Now, Aylo will block Indiana and Kentucky in July, according to adult trade publication AVN. The laws that spurred these bans are Indiana’s SB 17 and Kentucky’s HB 278.

Florida could be the next state that faces a Pornhub ban. Its age-verification law, HB 3, goes into effect January 2025.
